Toen Giovanni (John sr.) Pedroncelli in 1927 zijn wijnbedrijf startte met de aankoop van wijngaarden, stonden daar al vijfentwintig jaar oude zinfandelstokken. Van deze stokken, de Mother Clone, zijn sindsdien nieuwe loten gebruikt voor verdere aanplant. Nog steeds zorgen deze inmiddels bijna 110 jaar oude stokken voor reproductie, maar ook dragen zij nog bij aan de blend van deze zinfandel!

Heerlijk bij wildgerechten

Resultaat is een complexe, kruidige en volle - op eikenhout gerijpte - wijn met veel lengte en structuur. De familie Pedroncelli werkt ambachtelijk en plukt de druiven handmatig. Bovendien stabiliseert de wijn op natuurlijke wijze gedurende de vijftien maanden rijping op vat.

Proefnotitie

Helderrode wijn met een pittig fruitig én kruidig aroma en bedeesd eikenhout op de achtergrond. De smaak zet vol in en ontwikkelt zich harmonieus, met frisheid en lichte tannine. Complexe rode wijn met structuur en lengte.

Fraaie begeleider van fijn gegrild vlees en wildgerechten met hert en ree.

Houdbaarheid

Nu op dronk en gemakkelijk houdbaar tot zes à acht jaar na de oogst.
