Piemonte mag dan beroemd zijn om z’n rode wijnen van de nebbiolodruif, er worden ook heerlijke witte gemaakt! Bijvoorbeeld deze fraaie Roero Arneis van Monchiero Carbone.

Arneis is een van de oudste druivenrassen van Piemonte en staat al sinds de zestiende eeuw aangeplant in Roero, ten noorden van Alba. Monchiero Carbone geldt er als een van de vooraanstaande producenten en dat proef je terug in de kwaliteit van hun loepzuivere Recit.

Francesco Monchiero oogst de arneisdruiven in verschillende wijngaarden in Roero. Eenmaal geplukt verwerkt hij de druiven in de blinkend schone kelder met zo min mogelijk blootstelling aan zuurstof. Niet zonder trots gaf hij de wijn de naam Recit, Piemontees dialect voor ‘kleine koning’.

En dat begrijp je wanneer je deze bijzondere, karakteristieke witte proeft. De Arneis heeft een fraaie, uitgesproken geur, met tonen van peer, perzik en amandel. De smaak is intens, vol en zalvig, dankzij de milde zuren in de druif. Dit maakt deze Piemontees dan ook bij uitstek geschikt om bij te eten. Combineer ‘m bijvoorbeeld met gebakken coquilles, gebraden kip, of een romige risotto.

Droge witte wijn met een jeugdig en geurig aroma van groene appel, peer en florale nuances. Volle inzet, milde friszure evolutie, zachtdroge afdronk.

Drinken bij
